PANDA FAECES TO BE USED AS TOILET PAPER

A Chinese paper company will soon be producing toilet paper made from giant panda faeces and food scraps, state media said on Wednesday. Sichuan Qianwei Fengsheng Paper Company has engineered a way to recycle the copious faeces produced daily by the furry residents of the China Conservation and Research Centre for the Giant Panda in south-west China, Xinhua said. The company signed a deal with the centre on Monday, according to the news outlet. Due to pandas’ bamboo-heavy diet, their excrement is fibre rich, the news agency said. Pandas produce 10 kilos a day of faeces and an another 50 kilos of “food waste” from bamboo left unchewed or spat out, making it ideal raw material for paper products. The giant panda is one of China’s most iconic animals and the subject of vigorous conservation efforts. It is classified as “vulnerable” by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. MAJOR REASONS WHY YOUNG CHRISTIANS START WELL AND END UP FALLING

If there is one thing that saddens or sickens the heart, It is seeing a person with great potentials starts well and then end badly. This is something that can happen to any one and cuts through all areas of life. For example; in the world of sports, where youngsters such as athletes or footballers who have shown from the onset that they have a bright future, youngsters who had started so well that it seems nothing can ever go wrong. Yet, they end their promising careers because of things such as; a loosed lifestyle or drug abuse. While this is common, In other cases it could be seeing sports men or women getting crippled due to one accident or another and therefore bringing their career to an end, and in other cases due to bad characters or wrong peer group advice/association. While these may be sad, the saddest of all still remains seeing it happen spiritually. Many of us Christians might have seen or experience such cases; it might have happened to people around us, where...

Why Did God Create Us

I will like to start by pointing out a similar question asked in the Bible by king David in psalm8:3-4 " When I consider thy  heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon  and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him?  and the son of man, that thou visitest him?     Back to the question why did God create us? God who created the heavens and earth with everything in it  needed no human hands to serve him according to Acts17:24-25 " God that made the world and all things  therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven  and earth, dwelleth not in temples made  with hands;Neither is worshipped with  men’s hands, as though he needed any  thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and  breath, and all things;"    He didn't make us inother not to be bored or lonely long before we were created he had company Gen1-26 makes us to know that he was with his son and the holyspirit " An...

All you need to know About Meningitis

Meningitis is an inflammation (swelling) of the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord known as the meninges. This inflammation is usually caused by an infection of the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Meningitis is usually caused by bacteria or viruses, but can be a result of injury, cancer, or certain drugs Bacterial meningitis is spread from person to person. The bacteria are spread by exchanging respiratory and throat secretions (saliva or spit) during close (for example, coughing or kissing) or lengthy contact, especially if living in the same household. Viral Meningitis If you have close contact with a person who has viral meningitis, you may become infected with the virus that made the person sick. However, you are probably not likely to develop meningitis from the illness. That’s because only a small number of people who get infected with the viruses that cause meningitis will actually develop meningitis. Having meningitis doesn't always m...

Mikel scored in the 48th minute of Sunday’s game and an own goal from Chongqing Lifan’s Goran Milovic in the 82nd minute sealed a 2-0 win for Tianjin Teda. This is the first win for Tianjin TEDA who started the season on a losing note and then recorded a draw in their second outing of the season. Also in action for Tianjin Teda on Sunday was Mikel’s Nigerian teammate, Brown Ideye, who was replaced in the 65th minute by Dong Wang, as he fired blank. The tricks that help some animals live for centuries

Dirty beige with grey-brown stain-like patches, Ming the clam was not much to look at. It did at least get a name, which is more than can be said for most molluscs. Estimated at 507 years old when scientists plucked it from the Icelandic seabed (and killed it) in 2006, the ocean quahog was the oldest known animal to have ever lived. In August 2016, researchers estimated a five-metre-long female Greenland shark had lived for 392 years, making it the longest-lived vertebrate. The mammalian lifespan record belongs to a bowhead whale, thought to have reached the grand old age of 211. Perhaps it is because humans have become so dominant in other respects that we are fascinated by species that outlive us. For biologists, examples of extreme longevity raise fundamental questions about why organisms age and die. And given that they do, why can individuals of some species live for hundreds of years while others get months, weeks or even just days? Humans are relatively long-lived. Some resea...

Governor Fayose Allegedly Diverted Paris club Refund

Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, may have run into fresh trouble with the Federal Government after it was found that he collected the sum of N8.877 billion from the N388.304 billion released to 35 states as refunds from over-deductions on London-Paris Club loans but only paid one out of the eight-month salary arrears he owed workers in the state. Fayose was also said to have paid a curious 13th month salary as bonus while the arrears of seven-month salaries owed the workers were left unpaid. A reliable source in the Presidency, who spoke in confidence with one of our correspondents yesterday, said President Muhammadu Buhari has lived up to his pledge to ease salary crises in all the states by releasing N388.304 billion to 35 states but many of the states failed to abide by the agreement they had with the President that they would give preference to settling arrears of workers’ salaries. The Presidency source said: “The agreement between the Federal Government and the state gove...

Nigeria Army Finds Chibok School Girl Kidnapped By Boko Haram

Nigeria's military said Thursday that soldiers found a Nigerian schoolgirl who was among the nearly 300 students kidnapped by extremist group Boko Haram in the town of Chibok in 2014. Col. Sani Kukasheka Usman, an Army spokesman, identified the girl as Rakiya Abubakar and said she had a 6-month-old child. He said her identity was discovered when soldiers were interrogating some of the more than 1,000 suspects detained in army raids in the Sambisa Forest, the Associated Press reported. The soldiers found Abubkar wandering near Algarno, a former Boko Haram stronghold, with her baby, according to Reuters. In December, Nigeria’s president said his forces had crushed the Boko Haram extremist group and driven them out of their forest encampment but had yet to locate the scores of kidnapped Nigerian schoolgirls. When the students were taken from their school in Chibok by the extremists nearly three years ago, the mass abductions s...

Las Vegas Company Unveil Electric Vehicle

Las Vegas – Electric vehicle start-up Faraday Future showed off in Las Vegas a prototype of a vehicle set for production next year as the China-backed company strives to win credibility in the crowded sector and weather its funding challenges. The “FF 91”, described by its designer Richard Kim as “weird-pretty”, is a luxury electric SUV Faraday executives say, will be the most technologically advanced on the market when it goes into production in early 2018. Advance reservations for the car – which insiders say will retail for about 180,000 dollars – are being taken for 5,000 dollars. “You’re about to witness day one of a new era of mobility,” said Nick Sampson, senior vice president of engineering and research and development. “We’re going to show the first of a new species.” But cash shortages and a recent spate of executive departures have raised questions about the company’s prospects. Faraday is funded and controlled by Chinese billionaire Jia Yueting, the chief execu...

Evidence Shows Russia hacked U. S Election

U.S. spy agencies have what they call conclusive evidence Russia provided hacked material from the Democratic National Committee to WikiLeaks through a third party, three sources have told Reuters. U.S. officials had concluded months earlier that Russian intelligence agencies had directed the hacking. But until now, they had been less certain that they could prove Russia also had controlled the release of information damaging to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump agree to improve relations of both countries The timing of the additional intelligence is important because President Barack Obama has faced criticism from his own party over why it took his administration months to respond to the cyber attack. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers and Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence Marcel Lettre are all expected to appear before the S...

Scientists Discover New Organ In The Digestive System

Scientists have learned a lot about how the human body works, but our biology remains a mystery in many ways. Researchers have discovered what they’re calling a “new organ” within the human digestive system ― a reminder of just how much uncharted territory remains to be discovered within us. The discovery of the body’s 79th organ prompted an update to the famous Gray’s Anatomy textbook, which is used by medical students around the world. People have known about the newly classified organ, known as the “mesentery,” for hundreds of years ― Leonardo DaVinci even included it in an anatomical illustration. However, it was thought to be a fragmented structure consisting of separate parts until Dr. J. Calvin Coffey, a professor of surgery at the University of Limerick in Ireland, found evidence that it was one continuous organ. Based on his findings, outlined in a paper published in November in The Lancet Gstroenterology & Hepatology, Coffey argues...

First African American woman Astronaut to fly to ISS

NASA astronaut Jeanette Epps is set to become the first African-American crew member aboard the International Space Station (ISS) when she flies to the orbital post in May next year, the U.S. space agency said on Thursday. NASA assigned veteran Andrew Feustel and Epps to missions aboard the ISS in 2018. Feustel will launch in March 2018 for his first long-duration mission, serving as a flight engineer on Expedition 55 and later as commander of Expedition 56. Epps will join Feustel as a flight engineer on Expedition 56 and remain on board for Expedition 57. “Each space station crew brings something different to the table, and Drew and Jeanette both have a lot to offer. The space station will benefit from having them on board,” said Chris Cassidy, chief of the Astronaut Office at NASA’s Johnson Space Centre in Houston. Epps earned a bachelor’s degree in physics in 1992 at LeMoyne College in her hometown of Syracuse, New York. She went on to complete a master’s of science in 1994 and a do...
